Using Insights to understand your business

See your top items, top suppliers, best customers and ask questions in plain English.

What Insights does

The Insights page rolls up your quotes, invoices and expenses into three views and lets you ask natural-language questions. All deterministic — no AI, no per-question cost, no waiting.

Period filter

Four chips at the top: 30 days / 90 days / This year / All time. Every number on the page filters to that window. Default is 90 days.

The three tables

  • Top items sold — your best-selling lines ranked by revenue (qty × price), across all "sent / pending / accepted" quotes.
  • Top suppliers — biggest spend, ranked by qty × cost on materials/machinery line items.
  • Best customers — paid-invoice revenue, with last-job date.

The Ask panel

Above the tables there's an "Ask a question" panel with 12 chips:

  • Best customer / Biggest month / Win rate / Outstanding balance
  • Biggest job / Average quote value / Top expense category / Net position
  • Most-quoted job type / Top supplier by spend / Who owes me money right now / Busiest day to send quotes

Tap any chip — the answer renders inline with supporting bullets. Switch the period filter to see how it changes.

What's not in there yet

  • Year-on-year comparisons
  • Custom date ranges (just the four presets for now)
  • CSV export
  • Drill-down (clicking a customer name doesn't jump to their contact yet)
