Importing line items from a screenshot or PDF

Upload a basket screenshot, supplier quote or invoice and Vontra pulls the items straight onto your quote.

What you can upload

On Step 3 of the quote wizard there's an "Add materials from screenshots or files" card. It accepts:

  • Screenshots of an online basket (Toolstation, Screwfix, B&Q, Amazon — any retailer)
  • Supplier quotes or invoices as PDFs
  • Photos of a paper invoice
  • Spreadsheets (CSV, XLSX) and price lists

Up to 10 files per quote, 50 pages per PDF.

How it works

  1. Tap the upload area or drag files in
  2. Vontra scans each file and extracts items, quantities and prices
  3. A modal opens with everything it found — tick the ones you want
  4. Each row has a section chip — assign each item to Materials, Labour, etc.
  5. Tap Add — the items drop into your quote with your section markup applied

What gets skipped automatically

The AI ignores delivery, discounts, free samples, subtotals, VAT lines and totals. Only chargeable physical items make it through.

Tips

  • For a long supplier quote, only the items you tick get added — you can come back to the same extracted list later via the "X items not yet added" banner in the upload card.
  • If a supplier name appears on the document, Vontra fills the supplier field on each line so your insights track spending by supplier later.
  • For tradesperson-specific catalogues (electrical, plumbing, etc.), Vontra uses your industry to weight likely retailers.
  • Trade-price columns are preferred over list prices when both are visible.
